At Bayside Dance, we offer the opportunity for all new dancers to undertake a two-week paid trial. This gives you the chance to try your class twice before joining for the remainder of the current term. Enrolments are now open for 2025. Frequently Asked Questions

How do I enrol?

Fill in our online enrolment form so that we have all your information on hand and can reserve a place in your preferred class. A deposit is required to hold your place in the class/es and/or on the waiting list for a class. You only need to enrol once per year and can find the form here on our website.

Can I come and try a class?

All children and teens are required to enrol prior to attending and to pay a deposit which covers your first two weeks of classes. After attending your first two classes, if you’re not convinced it’s right for your dancer, let us know and we can cancel your enrolment. If you love your class (which we hope you do), we’ll issue you an invoice for the remainder of term. As we offer casual payment for adult classes, adults can choose to pay for a casual class before signing up for a term/purchasing a class pass package.

How many classes a week does my child need to do?

This is up to you! We have no minimum class requirements (excluding some ballet levels that require two classes per week for exam work). The more classes and styles that your child participates in, the more they will improve – we all know practice makes progress! To dance in our Performance Teams, there is a minimum class requirement. See Performance Programs for more information.

How do I pay my fees?

Your deposit must be paid online by credit card when enrolling. Once you enrol you will be sent an invoice for the remainder of term which can be paid by direct deposit, cash or credit card. We also offer fortnightly payments via Payrix. The exception to this is adult classes which may be paid for on a casual basis as you attend.

Will I get a refund if I can’t come to class?

We are unable to provide refunds for missed classes, however you can do a makeup lesson for a missed class within the same term (private lessons excluded). We do understand that kids are kids and sometimes broken bones or sickness might mean that you have to miss class for an extended period of time. In these exceptional circumstances, arrangements can be made. Classes do not take place on public holidays and are not billed as part of term fees.

Can I watch my child’s classes?

Parents and siblings inside the rehearsal room can often be a distraction to children in dance class. For this reason, we do not allow parents to watch inside the rehearsal room, but we do have CCTV in our waiting room.

Can I pay for drop in classes?

We do not offer drop-in classes for school-aged students, however adults can come on a casual basis.

What do my fees cover?

Class fees cover the cost of regular classes. Costume purchase and/or hire for end-of-year concerts or other performances is charged separately.
